Our church warden, Lois, recently shared with us a powerful and encouraging message all to do with blossoming and blooming. In October 2022 and again in May 2023, Verity Murray LLM sensed the Lord revealing His view of St Nic’s as his own private garden. We belong to the King. We are planted here with the best of everything for his own delight. In summary, she says, “In this whole encounter I sensed that the Lord sees the whole of St Nic’s site as a garden.” Lois reflected on this vision as she prepared to speak to the congregation, and this is what she noted: the in-depth teaching we have enjoyed over the last few years is the groundwork. Our garden bed is well-dug, well-watered and well-fed. As great as this is, it doesn’t mean we are done learning or contributing.
What the Lord wants us to learn…
– We are planted primarily for the Lord’s enjoyment and pleasure.
– We are precious to the Lord.
– He invests heavily in us.
– He gives us the “best of the best” – righteousness, knowledge, wisdom, forgiveness, healing, anointing for worship, a powerful perfume and beauty.
So, be encouraged! This is how the Lord sees St Nics.
We can be truly thankful for the gifts the Lord has planted in us and let us eagerly desire them more and more…
We can continue to cooperate with our Father, the gardener, as He works in our lives.
Following that theme of a garden, where the gardener is at work, we can continue to sow seeds and add to the visuals from above.
When you look around you at the church of St Nic’s (or any other church for that matter), that is the people, not the building, what do you see?
The Future…
This verse came to Verity from Song of Solomon 4:16
“Awake, North Wind and Come O South Wind!
Blow upon my garden that its fragrance may be spread abroad.”
We can continue to work together, perhaps adding two more Bs (to The 5 B’s) for Blossoming and Blooming as we tend His garden. Let’s get truly ready for spreading the word.
